The Rev. Father John Oliver is the priest of St. Elizabeth Orthodox Christian Church, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He is the author of numerous articles and essays, and of Touching Heaven: Discovering Orthodox Christianity on the Island of Valaam, published by Ancient Faith Publishing. A graduate of St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, he joined the faculty as instructor in Old and New Testament and American Religious History. He and his wife Lara have three daughters and one son. Fr. John also broadcasts the Hearts and Minds podcast on Ancient Faith Radio.
Jonathan Jackson is a five-time Emmy Award winning actor and musician. Among many roles in both film and television, he has starred as “Lucky Spencer” in General Hospital (1993-1999, 2009-2011) as well as “Avery Barkley” on Nashville (2012-present), and he is the lead singer of the independent rock band Enation (2004-present). In 2012, Jonathan and his family were baptized into the Orthodox Church (read about and listen to an interview the Rev. Fr. Jennie Gelles, B.S. in art education Pennsylvania State University, is an artist and iconographer. Since 2003, she has been studying iconography under internationally known master iconographer, Ksenia Pokrovsky both in her studio and with Hexaemeron.org hosted workshops. Jennie has written icons for her home parish of St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church in Louisville, KY and other churches and homes throughout the United States.
